E-commerce

Making money with your Web-Site by selling products, taking credit card numbers and similar business transactions is called E-commerce. This is the hottest thing in business today. Text

The basic item on your web page(s) will be text. You can make it any color altho about 16 are viewable on old legacy monitors. Your text letters can be different sizes, underlined etc. You have the option of including large portions of text imbedded within your web-site without your visitors having to scroll thru it all. They can just click on it and save it on their computer to read later. This can save a lot in mail-outs, "800" numbers etc.

Once back; notice how the color of the "link" letters change to a "visited link".

Visual

Of course you probably know you can put pictures, called "images" on your sight, such as the blue bar above. You will need to have them in digital format . This means you either copy them from a computer to a disk (from your files, the internet etc.) or you can get them from a store that sells "clip-art" disks. You may also decide to create images using various art software.

You could also scan a photo or even convert video segments into digital files, altho this gets costly and many computers would take a long time to view video. Just about any visual effect can be placed on your web-site!

One important visual is your background. You can use a solid color, or a "tiled" image. Most backgrounds on the internet are small images that are "tiled" or repeated across the page. This enables us to create nice backgrounds that are quick loading; that is they don't take a long time to appear on an average computer. This is important because some folks won't wait for a fancy expensive web-page to appear.

Sound

Many people are not aware that you can include sound into your web-site. Many of your customers will have multi-media computers with sound playing capabilities. The types of sound vary from sound effects and music to human voices. You need the sound in the form of a computer file to post it on your web-site. You can do much of this yourself or work with a sound professional such as myself. As with video, the cost varies depending on the complexity of what you want to do.
